Message Analyzer 1.2 is the successor to Network Monitor 3.4. It is a tool for capture, display, and analysis of network message traffic and other system messages. It executes a session of optional capture operations. During a live capture, your capture session begins with your selection of a load type, such as load request, load confirmation, or load complete. Loading a stored collection of message traffic associated with one or more capture sessions is similar to a live capture. You can edit the cache extension file before you refresh the capture. To perform a refresh, click the Refresh button in the Capture Summary window or click the Edit button in the individual capture summary display. When you refresh, Message Analyzer loads the specified messages from the cache file into the Display window. You can also choose from various supported protocols and load captured message traffic from log or trace files to perform a load of archives.
Message Analyzer is a distributed multitasking tool. It includes a snapshot and traffic clone feature. The Snapshot option allows you to save a copy of your active capture session as an image file, and the Traffic Clone option allows you to create a non-distributed copy of your active capture session. Each snapshot or clone maintains a copy of the active capture session's display window with all of the buttons, controls, and other window elements available in the active capture session. Snapshot and traffic clone files offer a number of important advantages and their use depends on your needs. For more information, see Snapshot and Traffic Clone.
If you are the owner of the system that you are using Message Analyzer to capture messages from, you can use Message Analyzer to capture all, or just some of your system's messages by specifying which part(s) of the system is/are to be captured. d2c66b5586
