They are open to people from a variety of different disciplines and fields who are not electrical engineers, including physicists, chemists, and biologists. Students learn how to design circuits that utilize electricity and exciting new sources of electricity. The course draws on demonstration and lab class activities as much as standard lectures. Students design, analyze, simulate, and build working circuits, performing the kinds of tasks that are required to do by a practicing electrical engineer. A part of the activity is to get the students out of their comfort zone and away from their code-driven life of being an electrical engineer.
