I saw this episode when it came out and thought it was hacked. It's a live-action show about the Avengers? What the heck? But then I did a little research, and it turns out that when NASA's Apollo program reached the moon, they realized that without the '60s TV show, they'd never have gotten that far. So they made a show about it to make the rest of the planet a little smarter too! The producers won an Emmy for this one, so it must have done something right.
Because this is a superhero film, there's a lot of action -- sometimes in slow motion. The complexity of the special effects required to make Batman and Iron Man, for example, almost always exceeds the ability of the human eye. That being said, whenever I see a shiny metal object drop at slow speed, I know it's Batman and Iron Man.
I've complained about the lack of continuity in the MCU films already, but they manage to cram all of this in, showing the Earth-616 world of the comics over and over again -- for example, establishing that Captain America was killed in Civil War and that Iron Man has two sets of armors. I also like the fact that they're branching out as if into a whole new universe -- Iron Man has more sidekicks, Ant-Man has different divisions, and SHIELD has its own world. It's always like this with Marvel movies -- they take the big canon, fill it up with stuff from the comics, and then keep inventing new stuff.
Hit-to-miss. This is the last film we see really hitting its stride in my opinion -- which is a shame. I enjoyed this to a point even though Funnel-Cloud just seems like a repackaging of Emma Frost, you see, when you think about it, the current powers from the end of X-23 are basically just Emma Frost's powers, and the mutant she made recently, and also how Emma Frost has probably taken X-23's powers and... you know, if she can do it, Alice in Wonderland can do it. d2c66b5586
